I have a 1998 Olds aurora and yesterday it wouldn’t start. I would turn the key over and it wouldn’t even crank. After trying for a half hour I luckily got it to start. What could it be, the starter, the switch? Please give me your thoughts and opinions. Thanks!
I would go to the grocery store for a couple of minutes and when I would come out, it once again would not turned over for at least 5 minutes.

It’s strange, it was whisper quiet at first, but now there is very prominent humming. It’s not to distracting when working, but when going to sleep, it’s impossible due to the cyclical hum (about 2 times a second on low speed).

Just as a note: I didn’t think i was fixable, but since it was quiet before I bet it is. Maybe I need to oil it or something???
